Mad Men Cocktails

Here is a collection of cocktails from Mad Men. I plan to create a checklist similar to the James Bond Cocktail List, and I will be sure to post when it is ready.

But until then, here is a quick list of Mad Men Cocktails:

Old Fashioned – This classic cocktail is a favorite of Don Draper, the show’s protagonist. It’s made with bourbon or rye whiskey, sugar, bitters, a dash of water, and a twist of orange peel.

Martini – A favorite of Roger Sterling, and another favorite of Don Draper, the martini is made with gin or vodka and vermouth, garnished with a lemon twist or olive.

Manhattan – This cocktail is made with whiskey, sweet vermouth, and bitters, garnished with a cherry.

Bloody Mary – A simple mix of vodka and tomato juice, over ice in a tall glass. You can also spruce it with other additions like hot sauce, and garnish with celery and lemons.

Gibson – The classic Gibson is made with gin and dry vermouth, garnished with a cocktail onion. Don Draper orders his with vodka instead of gin.

Whiskey Sour – A mix of bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup, and an egg white, shaken over ice and strained.

Gimlet – Gin, lime juice, and simple syrup, shaken over ice. And of course, Don orders his made with vodka.
